The Science of Doctor Who
Doctor Who is based upon a combination of real science and pseudoscience, often drawing its inspiration from mainstream science fiction or from the cutting edge of modern scientific thinking.
The science of Doctor Who has inspired a couple of "Science of..." books which take the traditional approach of asking how the science of Doctor Who works in the real world.
Over the years Doctor Who has been inspired by sciencific phenomenon and events, often being given their own spin by the series' writers.
Covered by the "Science of..." books, some of the scientific concepts explored in Doctor Who would work quite differently in the real world.
Moreso even than Star Trek, the Doctor Who universe has cultivated a number of wild and amazing forms of science based either on science fictin or fantasy comments, or home-grown by its creators to come up with some novel concepts and ideas not seen anywhere else in fiction.
Doctor Who has, over the years, been cursed with quite a bit of "bad science" - excruciatingly bad in some cases - and there have also been many examples of old or outdated scientific concepts that have been shattered by later discoveries.
