One of the most common questions raised when discussing Doctor Who is "what is canon and what isn't?".
The bottom line is that, besides personally defined canon, there isn't any such definition. There are many people who believe that 'canon' is defined only by what appeared on TV. That's an erroneous statement, and Newapocrypha isn't really a community for those who subscribe to the "TV is canon" paradigm.

Which brings us to a better question, "in terms of continuity, what is the scope covered by Newapocrypha?". Now that we can answer:
The following material, in no particular order of priority, will be covered by Newapocrypha:
More simply put, if it has been published we cover it. In addition we will seek to explore, consider and challenge consensual myths embedded in the minds of fans over the years.
Rather than grouping content by medium, we've instead presented the scope covered by Newapocrypha here.

- The TV series
- Remastered, re-edited and reconstructed versions of TV stories
- Associated TV content (TV shows, documentaries and interviews where they reveal additional facts about continuity or how it is interpreted)
- Production notes, scripts and other material that reveals facts about
- Radio Times articles and other published interviews or articles that reveal additional facts about continuity or how it is interpreted
- Licensed websites, webcasts, games, e-books, mobile content, interviews and articles
- Audio productions (for radio or online broadcast, or on CD)
- Published novels, short stories, games and speculative essays (either in books or magazines)
- Licensed comic strips
- Professionally published spin-off material, in any medium, both licensed or unlicensed
- Fictional facts presented in toys, merchandising or advertising material (e.g. press packs, ice lolly cards, Top Trumps etc.)
- Selected fanzine articles and fan fiction deemed worth of inclusion, usually by direct association with other material covered
